No electricity is used—only the heat of a flame to move fragrance through space.
Yet what is being recognized goes beyond the novelty of its mechanism. At its core lies a distinctly Japanese sensibility—one that resonates with ZEN and WABI-SABI, and with the appreciation of shadow expressed in In Praise of Shadows. It is an awareness that does not seek to fill a space, but to return the mind and body to zero.Once known to the world as Japonism, this sensibility is now reappearing in a new form.

“The flickering of a single candle carries a scent by its breeze” Lei is the world's most poetic aroma diffuser, powered simply by the heat of a candle. Like a fire in ancient times, this home appliance feels indispensable to any social situation—whether to entertain or calm. Made from recyclable materials, Lei generates electricity from the heat of a candle, which in turn creates a gentle breeze that allows volatilized aroma to permeate a space. While sustainable, its minimalist design—featuring cordless mobility and low-maintenance usability—also has great emotional appeal. An entirely self-sufficient product that redefines home appliances.
Lei’s real advantage is in being a cordless product with minimal maintenance required from the user. It can be transported and used anywhere—by a bedside or bathtub, even outdoors. The essential oils are dropped straight into a tray, making it easy to replenish or clean. The product is also designed to allow users to enjoy the aroma with minimal consumption. While other products tend to overheat oils, Lei uses gentle heat to gradually volatilize the aroma, preserving quality while minimising wastage. It also guarantees safe usage. A sturdy steel platform prevents tipping, and a glass dome protects users from a direct flame.
In consideration of the environment, the materials used are limited to three types: aluminum, rare earths, and glass. —all recyclable materials—we ensure that even after the product's life is over, everything, even packaging, can be recycled. Lei embodies the soon-to-be standard values of our post-materialist future, going beyond mere functionality, the user is not just using the product but also enjoying the poetic experience of time and space. Rather than pursuing immediate functionality and convenience, this product embodies the sensitivity to find space in the unseen.
Belongs Anywhere
A quiet presence shaped from glass and aluminum. From living rooms and bedrooms to studies, desks, and retail spaces, it settles naturally into any environment. With the lighting of a flame, light and shadow begin to emerge—softly reshaping the atmosphere and bringing a sense of calm to the space.
